Le Bouveret village is situated at the mouth of
the Rhone where it feeds into Lake Geneva. It is known for its beautiful beach
and its amusement parks, the Aquaparc and the Swiss
Vapeur Parc. In summer, this little village offers a multitude of events
like free concerts by the lake, lakeside markets, the International Steam Festival or the
Swiss Jet-Ski championships. The
spectacular fireworks on July 31st celebrate the national holiday a day
in advance and is one of the most beautiful lakeside spectacles.

Lake Geneva, Lac Léman in French, is the largest Alpine lake in Europe with 580 square kms, lying between southwestern Switzerland and Haute-Savoie département, southeastern France. The Rhône River enters it near Le Bouveret and leaves it at the west end through the city of Geneva. The maximum depth is 310 m. The north shore is known to be a fertile wine-producing area rising to the Jura Mountains, whereas the south and east
shores are bordered by the Savoy and Valaisan Alps.

Towns to visit around Le Bouveret:
Montreux is a fashionable health resort in nearly mediterraniean climate with picturesque lanes, historical sights and exclusive shopping facilities. The Montreux International Jazz Festival is a huge attraction each summer in July, other festivals
are the International Choral Festival (the week following Easter) and the September Musical Concert. The nearby 13th-century Château de Chillon is one of Switzerland's best-known pieces of architecture.
Villeneuve is an ancient and very picturesque town only a few kilometres from Le Bouveret. The art gallery in the old town exhibits paintings, engravings, objets d' art and antiques in a medieval setting.

is a popular summer resort and spa, much frequented for its mineral
springs. The town is also a centre for trade in cheeses. A funicular railway runs from the lakeshore to the town
Chamonix, the mountain resort in the French Alps is situated at an elevation of 1,037 m, about 2 hrs from Le Bouveret. Snow clad mountains include Mont Blanc (4,807 m), the highest mountain in western Europe.

Getting here...
The area is well served by trains and buses. Major motorways link Geneva and Montreux with the rest of Switzerland as well as with South Eastern France.
The international Airport of Geneva is just 1 hr away and served by a number of airlines. The airports of Milano in Italy (Bergamo is served by Ryanair) can be reached in about 4 hrs through the Aosta tunnel connecting Switzerland and Italy.
By train, take an international train (TGV from Paris, Pendolino from Milan and Intercity from Frankfurt or Munich) to Lausanne and there change
for Montreux.
